Would you have guessed that the world's largest latina sorority would have been founded in Iowa. With less than 4% of Iowa's population Hispanic it might come as a surpise that Sigma Lambda Gamma was started at the University of Iowa in 1990. Relatively young for a fraternal organization it is one of the fastest growing and already has a Miss Universe candidate among its alumna. Headquarters remain in North Liberty Iowa as well.
