5 Photos by Pete Zarria

Pete Zarria is one of my favorite photographers on Flickr. He captures buildings and signs in Iowa as well as anyone and I encourage you to scan through his photostream. There is something about run down signs and buildings that give Main Street America flavor and substance. Often colors explode or seem to fall, at other times histories beckon. Regardless, I for one, cannot fail to be moved by the romance of small town establishments and marketing. I guess that is one reason I love Iowa as there is an abundance of material of this sort to gaze upon.
