Stallone's first film after Rocky and arguably one of his most underrated. Filmed predominately in Dubuque.

Most of the filming was done in Dubuque, Iowa. Dubuque was chosen firstly because the older sections of the town looked more like Cleveland of the 1930s than Cleveland did, and secondly because of the absence of roof-mounted television antennas due to most of the homes having cable television. Because of the large bluffs, over-the-air television signals had problems reaching homes in the low-lying areas, so a cable system was developed in the mid-1950s, which was considerably earlier than many other municipalities.
Some locations used in filming included St. Raphael's Cathedral, Sacred Heart Church, the Fourth Street Elevator, E.J. Voggenthaler Co. and Dubuque Star Brewery. Filming was also done at the former Caradco manufacturing company in Dubuque. Portions of the Caradco building were fitted with new windows which were then purposely smashed for filming. The windows were replaced by the end of filming. Other Dubuque locations that were also visible in the finished film were the Dubuque County Courthouse and Saint Mary's Catholic Church.
. Others may not have the emotional or geographical connections to the storyline but most will enjoy the story of a team and a town waging a last stand against the inevitable. In my opinion one where the majority of critics got it wrong, then again I am biased, I guess you will just have to check it out for yourself. 
, which so happens to be set partially in my adopted hometown of Snoqualmie Washington, but I think one of his most moving creations is the 
, a haunting and heartwarming meditation on family, obligation, fortitude, and Iowa. After watching the trailer, do yourself a favor and sit down with your loved ones and watch the film then call that one brother who moved far away from home and tell him you miss him. 
also happens to be the only film I ever auditioned for. I remembered taking the day off from mowing laws for my uncle and driving to Ames to have my photo taken and say a few words. For about 48 hours I was convinced that I would be called back and that a role would be created specifically for me. Alas I now live in Seattle and not Hollywood so you know how that dream ended. The other thing I remember from that day was all of the Oklahoma licence plates on the cars on set, certainly Iowa is not as well known as the Sooner state for tornadoes but some of the most deadliest have hit the ground there recently and I would have loved to have Iowa been featured in the film as opposed to portraying a falsehood for all the viewing public to see. Now you know, Helen Hunt got whipped by the wind in the Hawkeye State.
